West Gallery: Dustin Regul, “square, sphere”
Josef Albers spent a lifetime proving that color is relative; that the same hue shifts depending on what surrounds it. Albert Munsell tried to give color a fixed structure, mapping hue, value, and saturation into an orderly three-dimensional solid. Between Albers' instability and Munsell's structure, I found the two forms that title this show: the square as containment and the sphere as what color actually does inside it, bending and shifting against its neighbors.
This work is a bit of a departure from the density of my previous paintings, trading accumulation for restraint with flat planes, limited palettes, and repeated geometry that let color do the work usually carried by gesture and eclecticism. Each painting asks the same question, what happens to perception when variables are reduced instead of multiplied?

“Soulful Imprints: An Interbeing Love Letter” is a collaborative multimedia exhibition by artists Olivia Evans and Jáiz Boyd. Saluting the roots that anchor us, the work explores the unapologetic journey of reclaiming identity, parenthood, craft, mixed cultures, and personal values while shedding internal & external barriers. Through video projection, beadwork, installation, fashion, and textiles featuring nostalgic symbols and memories, the exhibition examines how multigenerational knowledge and joy shape our survival. Reflecting the earth's rhythms, humans walk this terrain connected to all living things—seeking sanctuary, weathering battles, and finding hope in life's gray areas.
