About Us

Saranac Art Projects is a non-profit collective designed to support and promote local artists and educate the greater Spokane community while inspiring a vibrant contemporary art culture.  To meet these goals, we focus on presenting exhibitions of art that deal with contemporary issues and practices, as well as interacting with the community through outreach events, like artist talks, critiques, lectures, and artistic demonstrations.  Located in Spokane, Washington, we strive to bring together artists and curators who represent the diversity of artistic thought in the Inland Northwest.  Artist established, operated, and supported; SAP is a cooperative that has been dedicated to supporting the visual arts in Spokane since 2007.

Being involved with SAP is a commitment of both time and money.  We look for innovative, dynamic people who are self directed and who can be active in gallery operations, events and projects.  A Leadership Committee, made up of 5-6 elected individuals, runs the regular business of the Saranac Art Projects, while the members at large keep the space open and vibrant.

THE BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP:

  • SAP members have the opportunity and freedom to present their art for public viewing, including work that may be challenging or non-commercial, including installation, performance, video and beyond.

  • Each artist also has the opportunity to interact with the larger Spokane community not only at the opening and while gallery sitting, but also during monthly community outreach programs organized by members.

  • Members also may have the opportunity to curate a show.  This could include a group show curated around a theme, a juried show, or a two-person exhibit.

  • SAP is an arts organization that provides a supportive network for our members.  We are dedicated to discussing new ideas, collaborating and supporting each other as needed.

  • All members dues are tax deductible.
