WEST GALLERY: Hannah Koeske, “‘ Peas and Carrots’ and Other Poems”
‘Peas and Carrots,’ and Other Poems explores issues of feminine identity and femininity in the context of compassion we can have for ourselves and others. Hannah’s paintings explore relationships between love, devotion, trust, and ‘lust,’ especially in conjunction with conceptual definitions of womanhood and femininity. Her paintings often employ a direct painting technique, and sometimes, a performative aspect. They are primarily paintings, made with a mixture of oil, acrylic, and drawing media.
Hannah was educated in Boston, Spokane, and Seattle. She is a Spokane native and has shown work in Seattle, Ellensburg, and Spokane. She holds a BFA in painting from the University of Washington. She loves reading, spending time with people, and looking at other people's art.
