Madeline McGinn

Madeline McGinn is a Spokane based multidisciplinary artist. She received her Bachelors in Fine Arts in printmaking and drawing from Eastern Washington University and her Masters in Fine Arts in Print Media from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Her work explores the complexities of our relationships with our bodies as well as memory and melancholy. She has a strong desire to create through personal archives and nonlinear storytelling. She is interested in the truth of memory - what is the truth? Can you trust memory? The idea of shared memory and the connections we carry through remembrance guides how she creates. Through her use of installation, photography, and a variety of printmaking techniques, she can continue to push identity through public vs private, layering memory and understanding fraught relationships with the body. It’s a field guide to getting lost and finding the way back through the organized chaos.
